Sprint - Open Water Swim .45 Mile, Bike 17 Miles, Run 5k
Olympic - Open Water Swim .9 Mile, Bike 24.8 Miles, Run 10k
Race Details
Registration Fee:
1. Sprint $50.00 until 04/30, $60.00 until 06/30, $65.00 until 08/04
2. Olympic $70.00 until 04/30, $80.00 until 06/30, $85.00 until 08/04
Awards:
1. Prize Money
a. $500.00 – 1st Overall Male & Female
b. $300.00 – 2nd Overall Male & Female
c. $100.00 – 3rd Overall Male & Female
2. Age Group awards.
Course Details
Swim:
1. Sprint swim - 1 lap; Olympic swim - 2 laps (out of water, over timing mat).
2. Beach start/finish.
4. Wave start every 2-3 minutes based upon numbers.
5. Levings Lake is only 5 ½ - 6 feet deep.
6. Lake is tested weekly by Rockford Park District for water quality / safety.
7. Wet suit legal.
8. Sand/dirt bottom – very little weeds.
Bike:
1. Both Sprint and Olympic are out and back.
2. Limited traffic.
3. Police/traffic control at all major intersections.
4. Volunteers at all intersections/turns.
5. Course may change slightly due to road conditions or safety suggestions.
Run:
1. Both Sprint and Olympic runs will be totally inside park.
2. Sprint – 2 Laps, Olympic – 4 Laps.
3. Very spectator friendly.
4. Timing will have “cheater” matts to ensure course completion.
5. Park will be closed to outside traffic during the race to minimize non-race traffic.
